Vintage dresses 1950's and 1960's

I just love these mid-century dresses, too small for me. I hear women were smaller then, maybe shorter, but I know plus size women have always been around, and were very fashionable and sexy. I just don't seem to come across many or any plus size vintage dresses from the 1950s to 60s, but I know they are out there. I'll keep an eye out for those finds.

I also am having insights of tent dresses from the 60s and 70s. I am hoping a trend comes along for these. I think they are flattering for most women. I do have a few from the 60s. I may at some time do a reproduction of these. They can be accessorized  so easily, layered, belted high, waistline, or low on the hips, worn short as a top, mini, maxi, paired with loose baggy pants or tight leggings. Let me know what you all think about tent dresses, love, hate, oh no, or what the....?

  1. I love it, iots really classy and cut really well for a figure-very flattering and very feminine! I especially like it in the brighht red:D

  2. Very cute, love the sinched in waist! Can just amagine myself waering it! Congrats on another great design, your always coming up with new innovitive fabulous designs. Keep up the great work:P

  3. Wow my cousin was right she said tocheck out this profile,m that there was heaps of great one off finds on here! Do you have a newsletter??

  4. Thanks for the lovely comments! I actually did not design this dress, it was a vintage dress of red cotton, I sold it in my shop on Etsy and it went to Australia. I was lucky enough to find an almost complete wardrobe from the same person, I believe she must have been of high school age in the 50s.

I am soon to put together a newsletter, but for now I just blog, tweet, facebook and Google + thanks for asking.

You all have a wonderful evening!

    Warmly, Victoria

  5. Love it! My sister's friend wears this kind of dress all the time...must admit I can't see it on myself though...

  6. I know what you mean, some ladies can wear a style and make it look charming, sweet or hot. The dresses on your Bebe web site are hot!
