Brookings Coast Trip and Some Lovely Shops

I am a little late getting these photos posted as planned, but here we go.........

The Salty Dog Coffee shop in Brookings Harbour where we had our morning coffee and the local fishermen gathered to shoot the breeze.

Kids Town at Azalea City Park, Brookings, Oregon

This little kids town had it all, swinging bridges,
towering forts, and sliding hand rails.

A great place to play tag.

Drove eight miles up river to the State Park on the Chetco River for a picknic and a little swimming. We were at the sallow end.

Lily Rain skipping stones.

Brookings just happened to be having a Saturday night artwalk. This lovely store Feather Your Nest had a drawing for a great basket of goodies, and, I WON!

I am pictured in the center with owners Sue and Martha. The store carries such a lovely collection of home decor, and gifts for the garden and home. For the artwalk they were also serving chocolate wine along with hor d'oeuvres. You can contact them at 541-469-4300 or nest08@charter.net

I found this section as I meandered through rooms with lovely displays of beautiful cottage chic, it is a little room full of their vintage fabric, buttons, and sewing paraphernalia.
A vintage sewers dream come true.

And, let's not forget the harbour and the beach, where we found agates galore!

I took this piece of driftwood home with me and it now has a majestic place in my garden.

One last stop.....Gasquet, California, along the Redwood Highway 199 (I do have some great shots of the redwoods from another trip).........

This great little vintage shop has some fantastic bargains. Love my 1920-30s embroidered silk dress, which I do not as yet have a picture. Unfortunately I did not get the owners name, very lovely lady. I think it was her sister who had a fruit stand next door, oh my gosh the best juiciest peaches.
